Have you ever felt like the world of Internet Marketing is full of Scammers?
We do too.
Fearless Social CEO, Dr Ben Adkins explains the difference between real Internet Marketing and the stuff that gives selling online a bad name.
It all comes down to one thing. Do you have a business for the marketing to benefit? This may sound simple but you wouldn’t believe how many people head to the internet to make their “fortune” without anything to actually sell.
So… What do You Think? Tell Us Below.

Ben, totally agree with you but I’d like to point my observation. In that place where we see a lot of internet marketing stuff sold, I don’t need to tell you where it is as we both know. Most of the buyers just don’t want to hear the truth and vendors that tell the truth don’t make the sales they could when they just “sell” the dream and not the reality. So the question is, are the vendors wrong for selling it like the buyers want to hear it? LOL What are you thoughts, I’d like to know.
I agree 100%. Most buyers don’t want the truth just like in real life.
I think my point is… we can do better as sellers and leaders.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say that the vendors are wrong… but I will say this.
I don’t get up every morning excited about selling to hobbyist. My passion is to help business owners who want to grow… and grow fast.
The point I’d really like to make is that you can make a lot more money and have better customers (who get better results) by telling the truth about what “Internet Marketing” really is.
It’s alot of work, risk, and time invested with no guarantees.
Sounds oddly like being an entrepreneur 🙂
I believe vendors can do better as sellers and leaders for sure. I’ve heard the adage, sell them what they want but give them what the need but the thing they need is realistic expectations and a good sense of what it really takes to own a business.
The truth is, internet marketing isn’t a business to begin with it’s just methods and systems that one uses to promote and grow a business online.
Like you, I have a passion and love for business owners and having owned a brick and mortar business like you, I think we both have a different perspective then most of those in our space and especially those who aspire to make a living practicing interment marketing.
Totally agree with you Ben! If there is no real business, it’s just a hobby. Investing time, effort and money is a must to have a real and sustainable business. Thank You for sharing your thoughts 🙂
Ben, there is also a third grouping. It could be a fad. Something that is popular and the in thing to do.
Spot on
“I don’t get up every morning excited about selling to hobbyist.”
That’s it in a nutshell, couldn’t have put it better myself. The amount of products we sell compared to people using them, even when we make it stupidly simple to use is far too low.
The question is how to move out from that crowd and find better targeted customers with real businesses outside of the launch stuff and the only answer i can think of is paid ads that target customers and clients using products or services that we would want to compete with for thei9r type of customers and clients.
I.M is a very expensive hobby, but the demand is huge, it helped many of us grow and too many don’t give back IMHO
This is so on point. I often find people think promotion is marketing and they focus solely on that and not on developing the business or doing the real work in marketing- knowing your customer and delivering the perfect solution. Thanks Ben!
