In early fall 2011, I launched a digital product called “The Evil Facebook Magician.”
It went on to sell a few thousand copies in the span of a week. It might have been that I was “high” on the success, but for some reason I decided to do something that I had never done before.
I made the decision that I was going to throw a webinar and sell access to a two thousand dollar coaching program. At that point, I had figured out how to replicate my success, and I wanted to help others obtain it too (and also make some income for sharing my knowledge).
I figured that throwing a webinar was a great way to get my coaching program in front of a lot of my customers at once and I started to let them know via email that we were going to be doing a live webinar with something special at the end.
There was just one big problem with this plan…
I had never sold anything via a webinar before.
Not ever being one to let inexperience (or fear) stop me, I decided to go through with it, even though I had no idea how to put a sales webinar together.
I told my wife what my plan was, and she wished me luck. I locked myself in one of our spare bedrooms, and I opened up the call. Around 75 people showed up for that call and I went through my program
After about an hour on the call, it was time to give the pitch for my two thousand dollar program. I was so nervous that I was shaking.
When it was over, I had closed seven people at the $2000 price point and had $14,000 in my account that hadn’t been there an hour earlier. I was ecstatic, but I had a feeling I had just gotten lucky.
How I Got Good At Sales Webinars
Since that first sales webinar in 2011, I have gone on to do well over 500 sales webinars and have pitched products to well over a million people all over the world. I’ve invested thousands of dollars into learning from others who sell with webinars and, over time, I’ve gotten pretty darned good at it.
In early 2014, I even did a webinar that generated over a million dollars in sales. It was a far cry from my first webinar in 2011 and the jump in the numbers had everything to do with my experience and my extended education on how to do webinars.
These days I routinely do 5 and 6 figure sales calls, and it’s all because I have sales webinar down to a science at this point. Every webinar comes down to having a great product to sell, and a set of techniques to maximize the opportunity.
What is the “Master Link Technique”?
In this post, I wanted to tell you about one of those simple techniques. This technique easily doubles my sales every time I do a webinar.
It’s called the “Master Link Technique” and it’s so simple that you’ll kick yourself for missing it if you’ve done any selling via webinar in the past.
I was going to write the steps down in a blog post, but it’s much easier to consume this technique if I just show you.
